New Balance has released a collection of three mecha-inspired sneakers in collaboration with Neon Genesis Evangelion. The Fresh Foam Cruz silhouette features three different designs, each inspired by the colors of the anime's giant robots.
The FIRST and SECOND IMPACT styles feature bold, colorful detailing, such as blue/yellow/red or grey/red/yellow uppers and midsoles, while the THIRD IMPACT has a more muted black and grey color scheme with a speckled midsole.
The sneakers also feature thematic prints on the midsoles and outsoles with jargon from the show, as well as the logo of the NERV organization on the tongue. The collection is available on the New Balance Japan website, releasing on October 12.

"Fila has released a collection of five sneakers inspired by the characters of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Three of the sneakers are based on the Wave Let Alpha silhouette and feature designs inspired by Shinji Ikari, Rei Ayanami, and Asuka Langley Soryu, while the other two are based on the Interation silhouette and feature designs inspired by Mari Makinami Illustrious and Kaworu Nagisa.
The sneakers were originally released in Japan through the www.radio-eva.jp website, but are currently sold out. They were also released in select sneaker outlets in Japan on January 22, with a price of JPY 15,400 (approximately PHP 7,200 or USD 150). It is unclear if these Fila x Evangelion sneakers will be available in other countries beyond Japan."
